Auxiliary power supply ИВЭ-1

Modern electronic equipment consists of many functional blocks, each needing its own supply voltage electrically isolated from the primary source and from the others. These voltages are produced by an auxiliary power supply, also called a control supply or a secondary supply for internal needs.

Purpose:

The ИВЭ-1 auxiliary power supply produces a 100 kHz AC voltage. Transforming and filtering this higher-frequency voltage substantially reduces the size and weight of galvanically isolated supplies for low-voltage, low-power circuits. The unit also has 12 V and 24 V DC outputs.

Specifications:

• Total continuous output power of the supply: 200 W.
• Conversion efficiency at 200 W output — better than 95 %. Output voltage adjustment range, Urated ± 5 %.
• Supply voltage range on input XS1: — from a DC source of (200…430) V; — from a 50 Hz AC source at 220 V ± 30 %. Input XS1 is the main supply input and is fuse-protected. on input XS2: — from a 50 Hz AC source at 220 V ± 30 %. Input XS2 provides backup from the public mains. If the sources on XS1 and XS2 must be galvanically isolated, the voltage to XS2 should be fed through an isolating transformer, 220/220 V 50 Hz, 200 W.

Output No. 1, connectors XS4 — XS10 (equivalent):

• Rated output voltage at 100 kHz AC — 90 V.
• Output waveform — bipolar square pulses with a 50 % duty cycle.
• Output voltage duty cycle 50 %.
• Maximum total continuous output power on output No. 1, with outputs No. 2 and No. 3 unloaded: 200 W. Outputs XS4 – XS10 are the main ones and are fuse-protected.

Outputs No. 2 and No. 3, connectors XS3, XS11:

• Rated DC output voltage on output No. 2 — 12 V, 24 V.
• Rated DC output voltage on output No. 3 — 24 V.
• Total maximum load current on outputs No. 2 and No. 3: 2.5 A.
• Protection threshold on Uout being exceeded, at which the supply shuts down: no more than 20 % above Urated.
• ИВЭ-1 provides galvanic isolation between input and output.

• The converter is supplied as a printed circuit board.
• The overall and mounting dimensions of ИВЭ-1 are given in figure 2 of the datasheet.
• Converter weight — max. 1.0 kg.
• Operating position — horizontal.
• The converter is built to climatic version У, siting category 3.1 (ГОСТ 15150-69), for operation at −25 to +55 °C, relative humidity up to 80 % and atmospheric pressure of 650 to 800 mmHg.
• The converter is intended for use in a non-explosive atmosphere free of gases and vapours in concentrations that attack metal or insulation, and free of saturated water vapour and conductive dust.
• Permissible vibration: 1 to 35 Hz at 4 m/s².
• Ordering designation: ИВЭ-1 auxiliary power supply.
