Single-phase ATS panel for rooftop boiler houses. It keeps a flat’s heating running when the mains supply fails.

Purpose

This ATS panel was designed specifically to supply rooftop boiler houses in apartment buildings where the mains fails often. When the public supply is lost, the generator set starts and the ATS automatically connects the standby supply to the boiler house’s critical loads — its central controller and the circulation pumps. You can also connect a standby supply for the stairwell internet router to the panel output, so that the internet keeps working during an outage. A current of 10 A is usually enough for these loads, which a small single-phase petrol or diesel generator at 220 V AC can provide. When the mains returns, the panel automatically disconnects from the generator and reconnects the loads to the public supply. Besides rooftop boiler houses, the panel can provide an uninterrupted single-phase supply to premises of any kind up to 2.2 kW. The ATS transfers automatically from the main supply to the standby one on unacceptable phase-voltage deviation or on loss of the incoming supply. The standby source can be a second input fed from a substation on a different line, or a small single-phase petrol or diesel generator at 220 V AC.

Construction

The ATS panel consists of a plastic enclosure holding circuit breakers, contactors, an interposing relay, a voltage monitoring relay and a time relay.
