RC snubber network RC-01, RC-02

Purpose:

• An RC snubber network (mains snubber, mains damper, RC element) is a device used to suppress voltage spikes in electrical circuits — a surge suppressor.
• RC networks smooth and limit switching overvoltages across the components of relay control circuits and reduce arcing at the control relay contacts, which lengthens the relay’s switching life.
• Preventing or minimising arcing at the relay contacts reduces the electromagnetic emission generated at the moment of switching, which gives sensitive electronic circuits the immunity they need.
