A planetary stranding machine for making stainless-steel wire strand has been commissioned.
This machine lays high-tensile steel wires into a single strand with correct geometry.
Up to 7 wires per strand, one of them central. Wire diameter 0.03 to 0.1 mm. Because the spindle rotation, the planetary heads and the strand feed rate are controlled independently, the machine can produce strands of various lay lengths, with or without back-twist.
The wire strands the machine produces are used to make medical parts: cables, electrodes, guidewires and stainless-steel surgical suture material.
Wire diameter 0.05 mm, strand diameter 0.15 mm.
Wire diameter 0.07 mm, strand diameter 0.21 mm.
Wire diameter 0.1 mm, strand diameter 0.3 mm.
The stranding machine was designed and built by NPP "VEL".
NPP "VEL" makes stainless-steel wire strand of various diameters to order.
